Accuweather™
Severe weather phenomena are often encountered when conducting disaster relief, fire, EMS, rescue, Homeland Security and accident/incident operations. Responders may be faced with high winds, intense thunderstorms, tornadoes, flash floods or dangerous lightning strikes, among others. Each presents unique dangers that must be considered by responders and incident commanders, requiring prompt decision making and action.
AccuWeather provides a wide variety of nationally-renowned severe weather monitoring and alerting products and capabilities. Deployment of these capabilities through a coordinated statewide program will afford emergency responders new safeguards and heightened personal protection by affording greater warning of severe weather phenomena that may affect their operations - essential elements in on-scene safety for response personnel. These enhanced capabilities, designed especially for response and recovery decision making, will allow on-scene responders to have more time to consider and take appropriate defensive actions to safeguard themselves and the public.
